girls in the hoodoos

i wish i could give this post the time and the care it deserves. but i'm not going to. i'm going to write a few short sentences and then i'm going to go lay on the couch and feel sorry for myself, sneeze and sometimes i may blow my nose.

so saturday morning we met up with vicki and we drove to writing on stone provincial park. it's very near the border and you can see the mountains of monatina in the distance. i was all what are those mountains and no one had a good answer for me. vicki said they looked more like hills (no, not really.) and i said what are mountains doing in southern alberta, and karey was all we have mountains! we have waterton etc. ya, i said, but that's the rockies. these mountains are east. no one had an answer for me and then i realized that that's how close we were to the border. close enough to eyeball montana's mountains.

it was a cold windy rainy day. the high was something ridiculous like 11 celcius. but we decided to go anyways. scott lent me his tree planting poncho and vicki's mom lent us another rain poncho. vicki and i traded so i could have my camera under the poncho.

it was cool and we had fun. i especially enjoyed taking clicks of karey and vicki and the laughs we had while doing it.

but first from karey's camera:

she caught me looking dizGUStedly at my hands. i was trying to wipe sand off my hands so as not to ruin my camera with the sands of destruction.

these next to pics show the fun of the wind and a poncho.

vicki came up with this fantastic idea of a shot and i really like the way it turned out.

that's vicki's face and my fingers so don't e ven attribute my fingers to vicki because she has her own and i need mine.
i think vicki looks cute here.
i only had flip flops and it was slippery what with the rain. in this shot vicki is helping me grip as i came down the slope, by literally holding my foot to the rock, which i thought was both sweet and funny at the same time.
i basically included this shot because i like the way my calves look in it and i'm not ashamed to admit it.

yah, i know how hot i look, you don't have to tell me.

bffs.
we're hoping karey will throw us some juicy scraps.

see what i mean about long hair?
this picture displays my very convex shape.
now we're on to my pics:

vicki was freezing but i made her stay up there a long long time because i am a cruel person.
hahaha, this picture looks like a giat karey is about to sit on a miniature vicki.

the first of many jumping pics. she her landing was kind of a crash landing though, which took us all by surprise.

these are the pics i was taking when my calves had their moment of glory.
i included both of the next two shots because i couldn't decide which one i liked better. edith likes the first one. does it really matter? i guess not, but humour me.

a series of vicki in her own little hollow:

roomies.

i like this one.
this is when i was being 'invasive'. it's something i like to be.

i think karey looks so dutch here. and i can also see ghosts of her little girl self that i've seen in pics.

my old "put your head by this" idea.

they are killing themselves laughing here.

let the jumps begin:

? suddenly jumping became jumping into vicki's arms...
do a leap frog, i say from my prostrate position on the rock...

i don't know why, but this shot became a long silent head down shoulders shaking laugh.
that's what they're doing here.

i made my face ghoulishly white here, and i don't care. i'm leaving it.
i'm too sexy for the hoodoos, too sexy for the hoodoos...

and last but not least, me and my crooked mouth. more to come, you better believe it!

  1. So many great pictures! I liked it when you numbered them so it was easier to comment on individual ones. I think you should be proud of your calves. And I think you should frame the picture of you and Kary through the hole in an oval frame. It would be like a natural matte.

  3. Fun! You captured some really beautiful ones of Karey and Vicki, and I also really liked the disgusted at your hands pic. (I know you didn't take that one, obviously, but your facial expression is a satisfying one. I had to look at it full screen) I guess you didn't take a picture of your bibliography???

ps: I did a side knee plank today...
