green and blue

these are the mountains in hope at the gas station.  i think hope is in such a pretty location, at the base of the mountains with a pretty lake too.  i'll always remember that time we were traveling somewhere (that's what i don't remember), and dad stopped so we could go swimming in the lake by hope.  it was so fun.  there was a rope hanging in the lake... anyways i digress.
1

the water i bought at the gas station.  it deserves some lime light too.

hi.  this is my head.  head, meet the blog readers.  you'll be seeing a lot of each other so you may as well get aquainted.  this was when we were en route to edith's too hard to title function.  notice karey and shauna behind me.
5

head and r. the ram who liked to lip my toes through the fence.
6
head and andrea's driveway.  this was on sunday.  i was scoping out places to photograph and so naturally photographed myself. if anyone thinks i look older than 36 raise your hand.  if you raise your hand you'll be required to stay behind for detention, but please be honest.
7
now for the actual photo shoot.  andrea instructed her family to wear blue and/or green.  when i was editing the photos i realized blue and green was really the theme of the shoot.  it was beyond clothing.  it was the surroundings.  it was my eyes...wait i'm not in this.

warm ups.  you know, sometimes warm ups are the best pics.  i liked these ones with andrea's jungle garden behind.  i must have said something very witty before snapping this shot.

this is the exact same shot with my uber cool watermark that bethany made me.  i just tried it out.  i'm not sure i'm doing it right though.  do you love it?  i love it.
then i told everybody to dig their chins into their necks and get it over with.  that dean is such a rebel.  you'll see more of his individualistic behavior as we go on.  you know i love subjects that obey my every whim but i respect a rebel too.  there's room for us all--right?  right dean? :)
9
see here dean refused to squish his head with everyone else's.  i even gave it a shove towards andrea's but it remained stubbornly attached to his neck.  dean thought this shot was cheesey.  "dean's inhibited." explains andrea.  "only with you." shoots back dean.  the rest of the time we joked about the secret to a good marriage is being inhibited.  :)  anywhoo i ended up liking where dean's head is, so it's a moooooot point, aint it?  thanks for being your inhibited self dean!  is it just me, or do the three girls in front have gorgeous smiles or what?  it makes me want to smile when i see their smiles.  their smiles infect me with smiles.

the 'orchard' series.  "it is an orchard!  don't quote unquote it!", protested andrea to me.  this is when zeus joined us.  that was big hubabaloo, let me tell you.  but what are families if not big hubabaloos?  i know ours is.  as an aside, jodi is such a loyal dog.
11
crop it and crop it good.

wide angle it

yah out then in, right sarah?
the orchard series is where i was experimenting.  i don't know if it's good or bad.  you tell me.  please note the apple in andrew's hand.  later i had to pummel him and throw his apple away.  here he has it.
13

andrew, i should have pummeled you more.  as a girl with 5 brothers i can tell when a boy needs pummeling.  ask uncle evan.  i know instinctively when he needs to be pummeled.  it's a gift.  anyways you are deep in the need for pummeling.  i enjoyed where jodi stationed her self in this photo.  it's like she knew the best place for her to pose.  good dog, jodi.

this photo is kind of for my own amusement.  i took it off the hip and i enjoy the way i blurred everyone out and made the shot about jodi and her family.
17
nice bum-where ya from?  i wasn't planning to take this shot, but then... there was just this row of bums and i, well i couldn't help myself.  i mean no one was looking...

"make a face everyone!" i said.  andrea's is quite fearsome looking--maybe it's best that it's half hidden.  "this is my face." said dean.  that guy cracks me up. kaetlyn apparently thought i meant make a cute face.
25

tyler as the weird creepy man.  the rest as jumpers.  this is the only jumping shot.  enjoy.

the lake series:

these didn't turn out like i had imagined, but things rarely do. you get an idea and then you create something from that idea...you know what i'm trying to say?  i wished that i could have been in the water taking the shot.  instead i was laying in bird poo.  anything for a shot.

andrea arranged this shot.  thanks andrea.  i was out of ideas.

  1. Wow, those are really beautiful! You're right about the beautiful, infectious smiles. The funny face one made me laugh. I swear Evan makes that exact face Andrea was making. Out then in never fails, and I really like the crop it one, and the willow series, and the ones at the lake too. You did a great job!

  2. I love them, they're genious! (The watermark of course is used correctly, but unfortunately I made it too small. I'll have to fix that.) i love 23, 22, 20, and i love the jodi one!! I also really like the ones of Andrea and Dean with their family in the background, and I really like how you spaced out 14 and 13. And I LOVE 10. It'd be my favourite except that Andrea's face is sort of blocked.

  3. I always thought Hope was in a pretty location too!
I love 10, 12, 16, the bum series, 24 and many more - too many to mention! A lovely family and a lovely job capturing them.
